30 Day Blog Challenge

Sorry I have fallen off the ball on this. It is tough to think about blogging when you don't have access to a standard keyboard very much. Not that Jay wouldn't let me use the desktop, it has just been more convenient for me, for now, to just use the iPod.

I am going to attempt to finish this off with this post, so hold on to your hats!

Day 26 - A picture of your family...

Here is the picture we took this year for our Christmas card. It's hard to get a dog to look at the camera when there is nothing interesting to look at. I think this was the only one where Kiwi was looking and Jay and I had decent looking expressions on our faces.

Day 27 - Pets...

Above is a picture of us with our dear dog Kiwi. She is such a little goof and makes us smile and laugh on a daily basis. I can't believe how fond we have grown of her, and I think it will be a sad day indeed when she leaves our family. But she is only three years old (as of December 7th) so we are hoping for another 10 or so years with her.

Day 28 - Something that stresses you out....

Something that stresses me out are aggressive drivers. People who think it's their right to zoom up to the front of the line when there is a long line of traffic waiting in the other lane. I get stressed out when someone follows too close behind me. I have been known to let my foot off of the gas until I slow down enough that they get annoyed and just pass me. I would say that I have road rage, but sometimes I feel like I am tense when I get home from being on the roads.

Day 29 - 3 wishes

Wow, this is a tough one....

I would have to say that my first wish would be for my husband's body to be fully restored to his pre-injury state. Not that I don't love him just the way he is, but I know the frustration he feels on day to day basis with his physical limitations. I would love to alleviate that for him!

I would wish to have an endless supply of money. Not that I think being rich would make me happy, I would love to be able to help others more. I would love to have the opportunity to fly off on a vacation to some exotic location without having to worry about how to pay for it. But I would also love to pay off my friends and family's mortgages. I would love to help ease others financial burdens.

I would wish that I could eat whatever I want without gaining weight. After this holiday season of overindulging and not exercising, I am definitely feeling like I have lost some of the fitness that I gained last summer.

Day 30 - A picture....

I am posting this picture as an incentive to myself to get back to working out! This picture was taking after 90 days of doing P90X and since then my tummy has definitely gotten softer again. Not that it was rock hard, but it's getting squishier. I have the bloated feeling that I started to notice when I first went on my thyroid meds and I gained 15lbs in about 6 weeks. I haven't gained much in the way of weight, which is nice, but I know I have lost muscle and gained fat. Time to get back on the wagon! The 'plan' I have made for myself is to do another round of P90X in the new year, and hopefully by the time I finish that at the end of March it will be nice enough to start getting outside to do some running again. I am hoping to ultimately train to do a half marathon, but if that doesn't work out, maybe at least run a couple more 5 or 10k races to keep in shape.

And that concludes my 30 day blog challenge. It may have taken a little longer than I hoped, but I hope you have enjoyed finding out a little more about me :) It has been just about seven years since I started this blog and I hope to carry on in 2011!

30ish Day Blog Challenge - Days 23 and 24

My favorite vacation.....

I have to say that I really enjoy travelling with Jason. Being that his van is set up so that only he can drive it (ie no driver's seat) he has to do all the driving. For some reason I have never been able to sleep while travelling, so it works out well. Jay has to do all the driving (I wish I could help with that sometimes), but I am constantly awake to visit and change CDs and get him snacks. We have considered going into the USA for summer holidays next year, but not sure where might be fun to go. I would like to go further than the typical cross-border shoppers, but I also don't want to spend two days driving to spend a day or two shopping. I guess we should start doing some research if we want to do that.

Something I have learned.....

With the laptop being on the fritz, I have learned that it is much easier to get housework done without the distraction of a computer. Not sure what I did to procrastinate before computers became such a bit part of my life. I guess probably talking on the phone and maybe reading or watching tv.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 22

My favorite city....

I have not done much traveling in my lifetime. I would have to say that I like a lot of things about Saskatoon. I like the size, I love our river and parks along it, I like that it only takes me 15 minutes (25 on a bad day) to get home from work. I would say that next to Saskatoon the city I have spent the most time in is probably Calgary.

I think Calgary holds some special memories for me because of the association with my grandparents. I used to love going there to visit grandma and grandpa, and now that they are gone, I imagine I will spend less time there. I do really think that Calgary is a nice city, but bigger than I would like to deal with on a regular basis. I like their zoo, and their rivers. I like their malls, and their Ikea. I would like to visit some of their museums, and I think it would be fun to go back to Heritage Park (I went once when I was 9 or 10). I that you can see the mountains from the city and I love how hilly it is.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 21

A picture of me....

I decided that this year for Christmas/Birthday I would save the money I get (assuming I get some....) and buy a new, dressier, winter coat. I found this jacket a month or so ago at Sport Chek. After trying it on, I immediately liked it. I took Jay back to show him and get his opinion and he liked it too. I tried to be patient to go buy it, but one day I was back at the mall and poked my head into Sport Chek only to find that there was only one left and it was the wrong size. I was concerned that I had missed my chance at owning this very fine looking jacket. I decided to check out the other Sport Chek in the city and found that they only had ONE in my size. I made a decision to snap it up and any Christmas/Birthday money I will get will go toward paying off our credit card bill. I have worn it a number of times in some pretty cold weather with just a T-shirt on underneath and it is so nice and warm.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Days 19 and 20

Something you miss...

I was thinking recently about how I miss spending more time with friends. Not that we don't anymore, just not as much as we used to. I was remembering how I used to go to Forest Grove C and C every Monday night then we would go out to Earl's for cheap margaritas (they were only $2.50!!). I also sort of miss going for lunch after church on Sundays. It seems like we used to go out with friends all the time, and now that it's just Jay and I, most Sundays we don't bother.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nicknames....

I have never really had many. I guess since my name is Angela, most people call me Angie or Ang. I would say a good portion of the time I refer to Jason as sweetie and he refers to me as the same. I would say that's about it for nicknames.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 18

Something you regret....

I think regret is a strong word. However, I have to say I am curious what my life would look like had I chosen a different path to follow out of high school. When I was in grade 12 and I applied to the U of S (because I assumed that smart people went to university....the not so smart ones went to SIAST...I know that is terribly untrue, but that is what I thought way back then when I was 17). I was interested in nursing and physiotherapy, however, I was scared after spending the better part of my school career in classes with close friends, to step out on my own. I decided to take commerce because my good friend was taking it. She recently told me that she took it because I was taking it. So really, I have no idea how we came to choose to take commerce considering neither of us were really that interested in it!

I was the type of student who breezed through high school. I barely had to study. Of course I did my homework and assignments but I easily maintained an 85%+ overall average. When I hit university I did not know how to study properly. I wasn't too familiar with having to take my own notes, and I did not really enjoy being a face in a crowd of a hundred (or more) students in the first year classes. I wonder, had I applied to nursing or physio, if I would have fared better, being more interested in the subject matter. Or would I have struggled the same as I did in commerce because my study habits were not up to snuff.

I think I regret going through three years of university and nearly flunking out of my third year. I wasted a whole lot of my grandparents money, and I regret doing so poorly. I wish I would have done better, so when I looked into taking nursing a year or so ago, that I hadn't ruined my chances of applying because my grades were so low. I also wish I would have had a more positive view of SIAST because I really do think that there would have been a few programs there that would have interested me in high school, but because of my bias I didn't even consider it.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 17

Something I am looking forward to....

Even though it might seem a little cliche at this time of year, I have to say I am looking forward to Christmas. It feels like it has been a few years, at least, since I could say that. I have done all the Christmas-y things like baking, decorating, sending out cards, receiving cards, exchanging gifts, spending time with family, etc. but in the last few years Christmas has come and gone without that deep inner excitement that used to come. I don't know that it is the same excitement that I had as a child, because I can't remember the last Christmas Eve that I had trouble sleeping, but I feel some great anticipation this year.

I think a mistake I have made in previous years is that by this time I was usually done most of my Christmas related activities. I was done shopping, sending Christmas cards, baking and sometimes even had all the wrapped presents under the tree. I would say that this year I am about 95% done shopping, about 90% done baking and will be sending out Christmas cards this week, or maybe next and presents will get wrapped in a week or so. We decided to add making a gingerbread house into the mix for activities to get ourselves into the Christmas mood. We'll definitely post pictures once it's all put together!

I think it's fun being married because we get to celebrate Christmas twice and sometimes even three times. In the last few years, since I got married, we have alternated spending Christmas day between my family and Jason's. On the years we spend Christmas with my family, either we have gone to Swift Current, or his parents have come up here to celebrate with us a week or two before Christmas. And with my family, we usually get together with my parents and sister and her family during the week leading up to Christmas (usually on my mom's birthday, December 22nd) and exchange our family Christmas presents (we draw names). Then on Christmas day, we get together with my immediate family, plus Aunt Betty and Uncle Frank, Aunt Margaret and Uncle Hans and their kids and grand-kids. So all in all there are about 18 of us, if everyone is around on Christmas day. This year we are planning on hosting the 18 of us at our house on Christmas day and cook a turkey, stuffing and potatoes and thankfully everyone else usually pitches in and brings all the other food.

I still can't believe that Christmas is only three weeks away, and that Jason's parents will be up here in less than 2 weeks to celebrate with us. Instead of doing a turkey with Jason's parents we decided to try something a little different and are doing a pork tenderloin. I am excited to cook for them and have some time to visit and relax together. I am also looking forward to attending the Christmas Eve service at our church this year. It hasn't worked out for us to go for the last couple of years, and it always makes me feel extra Christmas-y and helps me remember the actual reason for Christmas.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 16

I admit I am falling behind schedule here, but I suppose I have had some more important things to do lately....like work, and planning out our gingerbread house, and decorating for Christmas, and doing Christmas baking.

Your dream house...

Maybe people would assume that because we custom built a house three years ago that we live in our dream house. I have to say this isn't a dream house, it's a reality house. It's a nice enough house and I like it, a lot, but there are things that would just be awesome to have that we don't.

First of all I would love to have a beautiful large lot like you might find in the Montgomery neighbourhood of Saskatoon. Gorgeous half acre lots. It has a very small town feel, but it's in the city. I like that. Of course our large yard would come with a yard maintenance person to look after it for us and keep it perfectly manicured.

I would also include a three car garage. Not so much because we would have another vehicle, but that way Jay could go out without me having to back my car out of the garage. It's not a problem, but ideally it would be nice to have that extra space. And maybe if we made the garage even a bit bigger....4 car garage, Jay could use the extra space for a photography studio.

As much as I like most things about Saskatoon, the winters kind of suck. I would like for my dream house to be located in a climate that still has seasons that change, but maybe less extreme winters (minimal snow, just around Christmas time).

I do really like our kitchen in our house, but it would be nice to have a little more storage space. I would also consider putting in a separate cook-top and maybe a double oven mounted higher up so that maybe Jason could use it, and so I could cook and bake to my heart's content.

I think I would enjoy having a hot tub built into our deck as well with a lift so that Jason could get in and out with ease. And I guess snow wouldn't be an issue if we lived in the ideal climate location that I mentioned above, but I would possibly consider having some sort of sun room at the back of the house that has lots of windows and plants and put the hot tub in there.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 15

A Bible Verse...

Psalm 139:13-16

13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

I love Psalm 139. It talks about God knows us, and knows what we are doing, and how He will never leave us. The portion I included here talks about how He knows us, and even before we were born He knew what would happen to us every day of our life. I think this is very reassuring to know that the God of the universe cares about little ole me. How He created me to be the person I am and he knows everything about me. Very cool!

30 Day Blog Challenge - Days 13 and 14

Goals.....

I set and achieved a number of fitness goals this year. I managed to gain enough strength to do a few push ups from my toes! I have never been able to do that before. I set out to work out on a regular basis, which I did for a while, but I need to get back to it, because I feel like I am getting a little flabby and am losing my strength and endurance. I also trained and ran two races this past summer. A goal I am thinking of working toward is running a half marathon next year. I think it is possible, but if I don't run this winter, I am going to have to start back from square one next spring. If not a half marathon, I would like to at least run another 5 or 10k or two, just to keep my cardiovascular health up.

Another goal I have had is to learn how to make bread and buns. I think I am okay at making bread, but I still need some practice in making buns look pretty. So far my buns have either come out burned or lumpy. Yesterday after attempting (and failing) to make rolled and cut cookies I set another goal of learning how to make rolled and cut cookies. I am not totally sure what the texture of the dough should look like, and how much flour you might need so they don't stick to everything. So, I would like someone to get together with me and make some rolled cookies....gingerbread, sugar, etc. so I can gain confidence in knowing how to do it.

A Picture that you love....

This picture makes me smile. It was at Kiwi's puppy obedience class that we took when she was 4-5 months old. This was during an exercise where the teacher would hold the leash and I would walk away a certain distance then turn around and call her to come. She was SO fast! I always liked this picture because her legs are just a blur. She has always been anxious to be with us when she is in an unfamiliar situation, so she did very well in this exercise.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 12

What I believe....

This is a pretty loaded topic. There's a lot of different directions I could go with this. I suppose the first thing I think of is my faith.

I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that you can't go to heaven unless you accept his gift of forgiveness and repent or turn away from your sins.

Romans 10:9 says "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

It doesn't matter if you are a good person who does good things, without Jesus there is no salvation.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast."

It also doesn't matter how bad the things you have done are. God still loves you and wants to forgive you.

1 John 1:9 says "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

God is not some big vengeful ogre out to get you. He loves us more than we could ever imagine. He wants the best for us.

John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son. That whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."

Jeremiah 29:11 says "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."

I will finish of here with a copy of the Apostle's Creed. It outlines the basic beliefs of the Christian church.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
and born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into hell.
On the third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of the Father.
From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Christian church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Days 9 and 10

Sorry for my slacking off!

A picture of my friends...

I had to throw in a picture of my hubby. He is my best friend and I can hardly believe that we have been married for nearly six years! I chose this picture, because it makes me smile. :)

And here is a picture of my two best girlfriends, Karen and Arleen. This was at our high school grad, 12 1/2 years ago. We look so young and happy! The three of us go WAAAAAAY back (grade 3 I met Arleen, and grade 6 is when Karen and I started hanging out together). We have been through a lot together. I can't wait to see what the next 20 years holds in store for us :)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Something I'm afraid of....

I think I have more serious deeper fears of more significant things, but right now I can't get the nightmare I had last night out of my mind. So I have to say that I am quite scared of spiders. In my dream I was cleaning in this room and I came across this little fishing net and when I picked it up I saw it was full of spiders. They weren't huge, but they were brown and had thick legs. Before I knew it they were all over me and were biting me. I woke up and was still feeling crawly and trying to brush them off my arms. ICK!

30 Day Blog Challenge - Days 7 and 8

Favorite Movies....

I have a hard time narrowing it down to just one or two movies. It really depends on my mood, but I will list some of my favorites....

The Sound of Music, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, X-Men Trilogy, The Little Mermaid, A Beautiful Mind, Sweet Home Alabama, Pretty Woman...

That is by no means an exhaustive list....but a few of my favorites.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A place I have traveled to....

I haven't done a lot of traveling in my life, but I have to say one of the most exciting places I ever went was to Minneapolis. I think it was so exciting because I was only 15 years old and it was with our church youth group. The church that I used to go to, their conference put on a youth conference in Minneapolis every few years. We went in 1996 and I went again in 1998. In 1996 it was my very first trip to the USA and it was with my best friends. It was super exciting!

Sure there were sessions we had to attend (honestly I don't remember much, except the guy who told us about Song of Songs and how he would read it to his wife and it was so romantic....blah blah blah, but at that age, it was just gross, haha). The biggest reason for the excitement over going was the Mall of America. It is a pretty huge mall, and with all the American stores that I had never seen before, such as Old Navy, it was a lot of fun. One particular memory of being in that mall is getting a bit turned around, so Karen and I kept wandering until we could smell Cinnabon and we knew we had been there before.

Another memory from Minneapolis is getting super hyper on Mellow Yellow. I have since learned that in the states they put a lot more caffeine in their pop, and are able to put it in their clear pop. Whereas in Canada they are not allowed to put caffeine in clear pop.

I recall that everyone who went to the conference had to sign up to do a service project. I, of course, chose the one with the least amount of possibility that I might have to talk to people I didn't know. I went to a place where they put together packages of food to send off to third world countries. They make these little ration baggies with rice, flavorings, beans...and I don't remember what else. It was a neat experience.

One more memory. When it was time to leave Minneapolis, we boarded a bus at midnight and drove back to Winnipeg overnight and arrived back there at 6 or 7am. The evening before we left we had played some group games, and for that, someone had written a big number on our hands so we knew which team we were on. When I was sleeping on the way back to Winnipeg, I had somehow gotten my hand under my face and ended up with a backwards number on my forehead...in permanent marker.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 6

A picture of something that makes me happy...

I was trying to think of how I could narrow down what makes me happy to one picture. I thought of a nice sunny day. A warm comfy bed to sleep in. Time spent with family and friends. Holidays I have been on. Holidays I would like to go on. Playing with my puppy.

I decided on this....

I wouldn't say it's the thing that makes me happiest in my life, but it's definitely brought some of the fondest memories from my younger days. In the last few years I have maybe made it up to Kadesh, once per year, and I still get butterflies in my stomach when I see that sign on the side of the road. It really does hold a special place in my heart.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 5

Your siblings....

I have one sister named Robin. She is 4 years older than me and has been married to Lorne for 10 years. She has two little boys named James (he's 6) and William (he's 4). She was a substitute elementary school teacher before she had kids, and now she is a stay-at-home mom who is in the process of getting her certification to teach group fitness classes.

I would say that we have always gotten along fairly well. I remember as kids building forts together and running through the sprinklers. Getting up early to take our glass pop bottles to 7-11 to get some money to buy gummy candies before mom and dad got up. When I was really young (3 or 4) I used to sneak into her bedroom (she had an awesome water bed) and she would reflect the hall light off of her hand mirror to make a spot on the wall, which I found quite entertaining. When she got into her early to mid-teens is when we didn't spend much time together. She got to be 'too cool' for her 12 year old sister. It wasn't until she moved out when she was about 20 that we started to get along better again.

My sister has struggled with her weight off and on for a number of years. Last year she decided to commit to competing in a figure competition so set to work training and eating a specific training diet. She was so committed to it that she went to the gym seven days/week and was there for probably at least 1.5 to 2 hours. She ate tons of eggs, tuna, chicken, veggies and protein shakes. She competed in April of this year. She may not have come in first, but I am really proud of her for all her hard work and commitment. I can't imagine that she would ever let herself become overweight again, especially now that she is pursuing being a fitness instructor and has suggested the idea of taking a personal training certificate. I think it was her drive and transformation that helped inspire me to make the New Year's resolution that I did this year.

My sister and I get along well, but I think we are very different. She has always been outgoing and not afraid to speak her mind. I am more quiet and shy and hate to be a bother to people. She dated a lot in high school and did some partying. I didn't date until I was in university, and I hung out with my church youth group on weekends. She smoked for a number of years, and I have never taken a drag. We may have different tastes in some things, but we are sisters and we don't fight/argue/bicker about things. We don't always see eye to eye, but we are family.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 4

My Parents...

have been married for 35 years. They met in January of 1975 through a mutual 'friend' (haha), got engaged in May of that year and were married October 25, 1975. I guess whirlwind romances must run in my family ;)

My mom grew up in Calgary as the oldest of two daughters. My dad grew up in rural Saskatchewan as the youngest of eleven children. Can you imagine having that many kids in your family?? By the time my dad was a year or two old, his older siblings had already moved away. On my mom's side of the family there are four grandchildren, on my dad's side, 27 (I'm the 2nd youngest).

For the first 10 or 11 years of my life my dad worked and my mom stayed home with us kids. When I was in grade 5, my dad struggled with depression and eventually chose to quit working. At this point my parents switched roles and mom went to work and dad stayed home. I honestly think that this was a better fit for them. While my mom is a very capable cook, I think my dad's creativity in the kitchen allowed him to come up with some really great meals. As a kid I think I took it for granted that I always had a parent at home, but looking back I really do think it was a blessing.

My mom went back to school last year after losing her job of 15 years a few years back. She is now a medical office assistant and really enjoys her job. I can't imagine going back to school at age 56 and starting a new job. I am really proud of her! My dad is retired and I wish he would take up some sort of hobby. I can't imagine just sitting at home day after day, but that's what he has done for many years and I know from my own experiences that longer you do it, the harder it gets to get moving.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 3

My first love...

was my husband. Sure I had said the 'L-word' to other guys I had dated, but now that I know what true love is, I know I didn't have it until I met my husband. We met online in January of 2004 and after chatting for a couple of weeks online and on the phone we were anxious to meet. We had a few dates before Jason asked me to be his girlfriend, and about a month later I knew for sure that he was the one for me. I had never felt so at ease with someone. I was able to tell him things about myself that I had never told another person. We enjoyed and appreciated just spending time together. We loved to plan and cook meals (still do!) and watch episodes of the Simpsons (I am not sure a day goes by that we don't quote or reference a Simpsons episode in some form or another).

It was a bit of a whirlwind romance. We met January of 2004, got engaged in August of that year and got married in January of 2005. I had heard people say that when you know, you know. I knew he was the one for me very shortly after I met him. Sometimes I miss all those giddy feelings that were there in the beginning. However, I appreciate the deep connection that we have developed in our nearly six years of marriage. I can't imagine loving anyone else as much as I love Jason.

30 Day Challenge - Day 2

Meaning behind your blog name...

I think when I started my blog in 2004 that my blog was called Angie's Blog and that is pretty self explanatory. At some point I changed the header to 'Angie's 2 Cents'. I am not 100% sure why I chose that. I guess because it's my blog with my opinions and thoughts on things. As for the website address name glitterydiamond....well I chose that because it is the same as my email address. I chose it as my hotmail account (way back in 1999 or 2000) because I didn't want my name, and what girl doesn't like glittery diamonds?

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 1

Introduce, Recent Picture and 15 Interesting Facts

Hi, my name is Angie.

Here is my most recent picture. It was taken last week after our dog had a hair cut and looked especially fluffy and soft. Jason had asked her "where's grandma?" which always gets her head tilted. I thought it would make a cute picture to join her. And I think it did ;)

15 (Hopefully) Interesting Facts:
1) I have never seen an ocean.
2) I have lived in the same city (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) my whole life.
3) I don't like seafood. Though I will eat shrimp and have recently come to terms with fish.
4) I used to be able to turn my feet around backwards. I possibly still could, but I find that it hurts my knees now and would prefer to save my knees.
5) I have been a self employed registered massage therapist for the last 6 1/2 years.
6) I think it would be really cool to go for a hot air balloon ride.
7) I will turn 30 in January and I am okay with it. I think mostly because most of my friends are already 30....
8) I am probably more physically fit than I have ever been in my life. Well actually this summer I was probably more fit than I am now, since I haven't been running regularly.
9) Even though I am pretty squeamish about bugs and snakes and the like, my ultimate dream vacation is an African safari.
10) I recently taught myself to bake bread and I find a certain satisfaction in watching the dough rise and bake up to a beautiful loaf of bread.
11) I have never gotten a speeding ticket, but I did get a ticket for not having my seat belt fastened once, and I have never gone without a seat belt since.
12) I was 21 when I got my driver's license.
13) I have never been drunk or done any drugs (that weren't prescribed).
14) I want to go on a warm holiday during the winter someday.
15) There have only been two Christmases that I have experienced with no snow. One was in Calgary and it was +15C on Christmas eve and my cousin and I ate ice cream in the park. The other was in Saskatoon and was a real once-in-a-lifetime brown Christmas in 1997.
