30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 3

My first love...

was my husband. Sure I had said the 'L-word' to other guys I had dated, but now that I know what true love is, I know I didn't have it until I met my husband. We met online in January of 2004 and after chatting for a couple of weeks online and on the phone we were anxious to meet. We had a few dates before Jason asked me to be his girlfriend, and about a month later I knew for sure that he was the one for me. I had never felt so at ease with someone. I was able to tell him things about myself that I had never told another person. We enjoyed and appreciated just spending time together. We loved to plan and cook meals (still do!) and watch episodes of the Simpsons (I am not sure a day goes by that we don't quote or reference a Simpsons episode in some form or another).

It was a bit of a whirlwind romance. We met January of 2004, got engaged in August of that year and got married in January of 2005. I had heard people say that when you know, you know. I knew he was the one for me very shortly after I met him. Sometimes I miss all those giddy feelings that were there in the beginning. However, I appreciate the deep connection that we have developed in our nearly six years of marriage. I can't imagine loving anyone else as much as I love Jason.
