So close!

I'm getting married the day after tomorrow! Hehe! I had a bit of a stressful morning yesterday, just concerned about moving and people not being able to make it for the wedding. But after a gentle reminder from Karen, not to stress about things that I cannot control, and a surprise bridal luncheon with the people from work, my day started to look a little bit sunnier. My client cancelled in the afternoon, so around 3pm, dad, future dad-in-law, Jay and myself moved my stuff over to Jay's place. It took a lot longer than I expected to find places for all of it. We were pretty much on the go from that time until 10pm (with a supper break, for some yummy fried perch...and I don't even like fish....)but we did manage to get it all put away!

After sleeping like a log last night, I went to treat myself this morning to my birthday presents from my parents and my sister. A manicure and a pedicure at Sunsera. I have had a pedicure there before, and I found it rather enjoyable. I have never had a manicure before. Now, the room that they have there for esthetics is pretty nice. Nice tile floor, decorated with Ikea furniture, very calming atmosphere. Except for the fact that it was absoultely FREEZING in there! After spending over 2 hours in that room with no socks or shoes on, I was absolutely chilled. The manicure was painful because I don't look after my cuticles, and they were quite overgrown. But she was a little over agressive and actually made me bleed :( Then she put the colour on, and after sitting there for 20 minutes I was told it was dry and that I could go. Well I put on my socks and smudged the polish. Then I went to pay and smudged it some more when I dug in my purse. I was not really impressed, but maybe I will just go with something a little more natural. Considering I never wear nailpolish anyways :P Then I was driving over to Jay's to leave my car there, and I went down an alley to get to a road that had a set of lights so I could turn left on 22nd st. So I went down this alley and it was fairly snowey, but there were tracks in it. But when I tried to stop as I approached the road (maybe going 10km/hr) I had NO traction. Like usually when you slide there is some traction. It was probably one of the scariest moments I have had. Sliding under momentum's power with nothing I could do but a little steering. Luckily by the time I slid onto the street, the bus had moved that I would have ran into, and the van behind the bus saw me and stopped to let me slide on thru. I managed to get some traction on the road and turned. But that was so scary....wow! I think I will be glad to not have to do much driving in the next couple of days!

So far we have had 3 couples call in the last couple of days to let us know that they can't make it. Hopefully we won't have too many of those!! But if we do, I guess we will all just have to fill ourselves up with 2 times the food :P hehe!
