Busyness at my Business

I have been uber busy at work.  On a side note, I used to think that 'uber' was a word that young people had made up that sounded silly, until I looked it up and it is a real word, and has German roots.  Now I feel like I can use it without sounding like a 30 year old who is trying to be cool.  Anyway.  I have been really busy at work.  Busier than I have ever been.  I think have had a couple of busier months than the last couple, but I haven't had 2 or 3 months in a row that have been this busy and it doesn't show signs of slowing down.  I know that a portion of my busyness has been due to the fact that my coworker is on maternity leave and so my other coworker and I have been looking after her regular clients, as well as a few who only come in occasionally.

I have to say the deposits at the end of the week have been really nice.  And the totals at the end of the month....pretty sweet.  I am definitely feeling this busyness in my body though.  I am trying to look after myself so I can keep going with this.  I went for an adjustment at the chiropractor this morning and am getting a massage from my coworker tomorrow.  I really need to get back into the regular exercise too because I really think that being strong and flexible would help with my shoulder/back/arm aches.

A few weeks ago I went for a massage with one of my former classmates.  She recently started treating from home and is loving it.  When I laid down on her table I noticed that the cushion on her headrest was super comfortable.  I never find them comfortable.  I think it's my bad 'head-forward' posture and my tempermental jaw that typically make them really uncomfortable for me after about ten minutes.  I found with hers that I felt really good.  I asked her about it and she said she had ordered a memory foam cushion from the Massage Supply Outlet in Edmonton and had gotten many compliments from her clients about it.  I decided after almost 7 1/2 years it was time to replace the cheap flat cushion that had come with my table.  I finally got around to ordering it on Tuesday this week, and it came today!!  I can't wait to try it out tomorrow.  I also ordered a 'sheep skin' (polyester) cover for my table.  I have been on a table with one of those before and it just adds a nice extra layer of cushioning that makes the table feel that much nicer.  Maybe it will entice clients to keep coming back......

I think that sounds like a great investment! It's the little things that make the difference. Some of the things I like the most about the massage therapist I go to is her organic cotton sheet with wool blanket over top...so soft & warm...and the type of oil she uses.
