Grrrr

At a time when my appointments at work are already at a minimum, I was supposed to have two appointments today. I had my 2pm appointment, then my next one wasn't until 5:30pm. I managed to fill those 2 1/2 hours with some reading, a brief trip to the mall and a phone call to Jason. Five thirty rolled around and my client didn't show up, she had been late before so I thought I would give her some time before assuming she wasn't going to show up. Around 5:45pm when I had decided that she probably wasn't coming and that I should try calling her to see what the deal was, she called me, from home. She said she had showed up at 5:30pm but that the front door of the building was locked and she couldn't get in, so she went home. I apologized and said that to my knowledge they weren't supposed to lock the front door until 6:30pm but she rebooked for next week (thankfully).

I was feeling a little annoyed wondering why the cleaning ladies had locked the door an hour early, so I tracked one down and asked her why the door was locked. She said that building manager had recently asked them to start locking the door at 5:30pm instead. I am not quite sure why the building manager did not let us in on that little tidbit because our business is the only one in the building that is open past 5pm. Usually we will take appointments up until 6:30pm. I will call my coworker tomorrow morning and let her know about this development. I am sure she will be on the phone to the building manager to get this straightened out. I do realize that locking the door earlier may prevent unfriendly visitors from coming in after hours, but at least tell us about it so we can adjust our schedules so we can let clients into the building after the door is locked.
