So I am getting quite excited and maybe a little apprehensive about starting my new job! I have put in 1.5 hours in the last almost 2 weeks at Dance Saskatchewan so it's been a nice break, however I am at the point where I would like to be more productive than I am being right now. I have pretty much everything I need to start working, just hopefully I end up getting lots and lots of appointments.
So I got my new Visa in the mail today. I had called them about getting a new one after I got married, with my new name on it, but they didn't send it. Then I kind of forgot about it and put it off for a while until just last week when I decided that I should call them again and get a new one. So while I was asking for a new one they were trying to sell me some long distance phone plan. What does RBC Visa have to do with long distance phone service?? I respectfully declined their "great money saving offer".
Today the card came, and I opened the envelope and took out the card then remembered that I have to call and activate it. I hate doing that. I don't think I have ever spoken to someone who didn't have a thick accent that you could barely understand. And they always try to sell you some sort of balance protection insurance. Since I rarely use my Visa, and when I do use it I pay it off each month, I have no use for such a service. I have tried explaining it to them before but they just tell you that as long as your balance is nothing, it costs you nothing. I just don't want to pay their $0.89 per $100 balance if by chance I do happen to use it sometime. *sigh* I know that she was just doing her job, and maybe she gets paid for each person that she signs up, I dunno.
Then when she was done with her speech, she put me on hold, or what I thought was hold. I sat there, and after about 5 minutes I thought that she had hung up on me. So I said, 'hello??', and she came back on the line and said 'your card is just about activated'. I think that is a bunch of hooey. I think that they could activate it in a second, they just tell you that it takes time to try and sell you stuff :P Crazy credit cards! Least they sent me the card WITHOUT the service fee this time!
It has been exactly a year today since my last shift at Impark. I only remember because it was the Thursday before the long weekend. That was such a great weekend, Jay and I went to see Shrek 2 in the theatre. I so do not miss working at Impark, tho now I need to go see them to get me a parking pass.
